The Tata Harrier EV scored full marks—24 out of 24—in the child occupant safety test and got 45 out of 49 points for adult occupant protection in the Bharat NCAP crash test ratings.
Tata’s electric Harrier has been awarded a 5-star safety rating in the crash tests conducted by Bharat NCAP. It even scored better than the diesel version in the process. The ICE version had earlier scored 30.08 points for adult safety. Now, the electric version has achieved a perfect score of 32 out of 32. The SUV passed the frontal offset deformable barrier test and the side movable barrier test with flying colors, earning 16 points in each test.

Tata Harrier EV Top Scores in Child Safety Assessments
The crash test report says that the safety for the driver and front passenger was always rated as ‘good’ in different types of crashes – whether it was from the front, the side barrier, or the tougher side pole impact. The strong structure of the car and how well the seat belts and airbags worked helped the electric SUV get a better adult safety score than its petrol or diesel version.
When it comes to child safety, the Harrier EV scored a very good 45 points out of 49. In the child safety tests, it got a perfect 24 out of 24 points. Also, the rear-facing i-Size seats for 18-month and 3-year-old dummies scored full marks, getting 12 out of 12. The only marks lost were in the overall vehicle checks, where the EV scored 9 out of 13.

Yesterday, Tata Motors announced the starting prices for the rear-wheel-drive models of the Harrier EV. They set the prices between Rs 21.49 lakh and Rs 27.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices for the stronger twin motor AWD versions will be announced on June 27. Bookings at showrooms and online will start from July 2, 2025.
