Mahindra has rolled out it s new XUV 3XO compact SUV in Australia, looking to strengthen its foothold in the market there. This SUV will go up against other compact models already available, like the Chery Tiggo 4, Mazda CX-3, MG ZS, Kia Stonic, and Hyundai Venue. The XUV 3XO in Australia comes in two versions: AX5L and AX7L.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Design and Features

The exterior design of the XUV 3XO in Australia is completely identical to the version available in India. Some important design features are the C-shaped LED daytime running lights, a strong front grille, and the sleek Infinity tail lamps. In Australia, the XUV 3XO AX5L comes with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, whereas the AX7L variant is equipped with bigger 17-inch wheels.

The AX5L variant is available in colors like Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Stealth Black, and Tango Red. The AX7L comes in the same colors except it doesn’t include Stealth Black. Instead, the AX7L offers a unique Citrine Yellow color option.

Inside the XUV 3XO, you’ll find a range of premium features. It comes equipped with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other highlights include dual-zone climate control, a steering wheel and gear knob wrapped in leather, plus electrically folding side mirrors.

The XUV 3XO AX7L offers certain exclusive features that the AX5L doesn’t have. These special features include a skyroof, black leatherette seats, and a high-quality Harman Kardon sound system. The dashboard and door panels come with soft-touch leatherette, along with a cooled glove box and a 65-watt USB Type-C charging port. It also includes a 360-degree surround view camera with a blind spot monitor. Plus, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) come as part of the package. These include features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition.

Engine Options for Mahindra XUV 3XO

In India, the Mahindra XUV 3XO comes with three different engine options. But for Australia, there is just one engine option: a 1.2-liter mStallion turbocharged multipoint fuel injection (TCMPFi) engine. This engine delivers 110 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring a torque converter. In India, the same engine is also available with a 6-speed manual transmission option.

Mahindra has priced the XUV 3XO starting at AUD 23,490 for the AX5L variant in Australia. This is a drive-away price, meaning it covers all on-road expenses such as taxes and registration fees. This price roughly equals 13.18 lakh Indian Rupees. The XUV 3XO AX7L variant is listed at AUD 26,490, which comes to around 14.87 lakh Indian Rupees. These are special launch prices valid only until August 31st. After that, the prices of both AX5L and AX7L models will increase by AUD 500.

With these price tags, the Mahindra XUV 3XO stands out as one of the most budget-friendly SUVs available in Australia. For comparison, the Chery Tiggo 4 (Urban) comes with a drive-away price of AUD 23,990, while the MG ZS is priced at AUD 25,990. The automatic versions of the Kia Stonic and Hyundai Venue are priced at AUD 28,290 and AUD 27,990 drive-away, respectively.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO units sold in Australia are fully built and shipped from India. In India, In India, the XUV 3XO is available at a price range starting from ₹7.99 lakh and going up to ₹15.79 lakh. Mahindra is also working on an electric variant of the XUV 3XO, which is likely to take the place of the XUV400.
