Mahindra has finally taken covers off the Mahindra Vision S at the Freedom NU event on Independence Day. This SUV concept has become the talk of town because it looks like a bridge between Scorpio’s heritage and future EV SUV plans.
The Vision S stood alongside other Vision concepts – Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT – but it was clearly the main highlight.
Mahindra Vision S – Is It Linked To Scorpio?
Fans already calling this SUV the next Scorpio because the “S” in its name looks like direct hint. Now whether Mahindra makes it a Scorpio N successor, or a smaller sub-4m SUV, or maybe a fully electric SUV, nothing is officially confirmed yet.
The important part is that this concept is built on the NU_IQ monocoque platform which is flexible – it can run petrol, diesel and also EV setups. That is why many believe we may see Mahindra Vision S Electric SUV sometime after ICE launch.
Design Details – Defender Like Touch
The design of Mahindra Vision S is bold, boxy and muscular. Even though it looks smaller than Scorpio N, its stance reminds people of Land Rover Defender, especially the rear side.

It feels modern but still rugged like old-school SUVs.
Petrol, Diesel Or EV?
The showcase model had a fuel filler cap, so chances are strong it will first come in petrol and diesel engine options. But Mahindra has already said its new platform is EV-ready, so Vision S EV is also possible in near future.
So expect this SUV in multiple choices – petrol, diesel, hybrid and later maybe fully electric.

While Mahindra didn’t fully reveal interiors, production Vision S may offer:

As of now, Mahindra has not confirmed launch date. Industry buzz says production-ready Vision S could come by 2026. First petrol-diesel versions may launch, followed by hybrid or electric version later.
