VinFast is expected to reveal the prices of its VF6 and VF7 models shortly. Meanwhile, those interested can already place a pre-booking by paying a token amount of ₹21,000.
VinFast is inching closer to officially making its debut in the Indian market. Once VinFast kicked off pre‑bookings for the VF6 and VF7, After VinFast opened bookings for the VF 6 and VF 7, today the Vietnam‑based EV maker has rolled out its very first car from the brand‑new production plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The facility was officially inaugurated today by Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin.
Built with an investment of ₹16,000 crore, the factory stands as a key part of VinFast’s big move into India’s highly competitive electric vehicle market. VinFast is aiming to manufacture up to 1.5 lakh vehicles per year at this facility once it’s running at full capacity.
VinFast has partnered with 13 dealership groups to establish 32 retail outlets spread over 27 cities, and the very first stores are already up and running. This expansion includes big metro cities as well as growing regions that are focusing on electric vehicles and clean mobility. The company plans to open three more showrooms by the end of this year, which will take the total number of locations to 35.
The VF 6 is expected to come with a 59.6 kWh battery, combined with a single motor that produces around 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. It’s said to go from zero to 100 km/h in 8.89 seconds, and offers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 480 kilometres on a single charge. The bigger VF 7 comes with a 75.3 kWh battery, and in its base version, it offers 201 horsepower and 309 Nm of torque.
On a full charge, the VF 7 gives a WLTP range of 451 km. If you want more power, the top-end Plus model delivers 348 hp and 499 Nm, but the certified range goes down a bit to 431 km. The VinFast VF7’s dimensions are 4,545 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and it stands 1,636 mm tall. Both the VF6 and VF7 will come packed with top-notch features and the latest technology.

The VF7 comes with some cool features like a full-width LED light bar, flush door handles, and a panoramic glass roof. Inside, there’s a big floating touchscreen that controls most things, plus it supports over-the-air updates. The seats have vegan leather, and there’s ambient lighting to set the mood. Safety and convenience are covered too, with ADAS features like lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, a hands-free power tailgate, and dual-zone climate control, among other things.
